The Wartville Wizard

The Wartville Wizard is sick and tired of his neighbors littering in their neighborhood. He decides to put a spell on them when chaos and confusion ensue. Based on the book of the same title, written by Don Madden, this story was adapted into a traveling play performed by high school drama students. The intention is peer-to-peer messaging and engagement- with the older students performing then leading a debrief and a Q&A session at the end to reinforce the theme that "Littering is wrong, and we all have power over trash".

When entering its 19th season, we had to reimagine our whimsical play to a digital (and distant) format. Creative Director, Patrick Phillips, has adapted the play for Walnut Hills High School Advanced Drama I, II students of Prof. Michael Sherman. The student actors are now the creatives, producers, editors, sound engineers, in its newest iteration the The Wartville Wizard: SuperCut.
